Shabbat
Today the group had a restful Shabbat. No buses, no lining up, no group tours, just individual adventures... Of course most of the group headed for the Old City and ended up hanging out.
The group has quickly and wonderfully gelled; like magic.
The one little piece for today is the wonderful feeling of sitting in the lobby of the Inbal Hotel and watching all the different kinds of Jews. We could have used a field guide. Hasidim, very Orthodox, modern Orthodox, Conservatives, Reform, and who knows what else... all in the lobby, the coffee shop, etc. All Jews... what a feeling.
anyway, more tomorrow.

So great to get on and read about your adventures there - it sounds truly amazing.
It is almost 11pm Monday night here in NZ so have just celebrated our second night of Chanukkah. Strange to be here in summertime celebrating the holiday while picturing you there in chilly weather lighting your chanukkiahs. Wonderful though to think of all of us, whether in Newton, Israel, or New Zealand all celebrating in various ways and enjoying the holiday.
Enjoy the rest of your stay - I look forward to reading about more of your adventures!
Take good care.
